Hi folks....I just got off the phone with my install guy. He asked if I plan to use cable in addition to the satellite and I said yes because we unfortunately don't get local channels yet. He said that it would cost 40 bucks in parts.

Can anyone confirm this? Why would it be extra if you want to also have cable in addition to the satellite? Is it because he will not be able to use the regular cable wires and have to use additional wires?

Please help me understand this. I thought the install would be free.

He may be using diplexers and definitely extra wire. Sounds a bit high for the extra work, but not totally unreasonable. Good luck with your install and I hope you enjoy D*.
