Failed NBC Recordings (Heroes & Studio 60)

I have had my very first recording problem tonight. I sat down to watch Heroes (recorded in HD from Seattle KING MPEG4); the time says -1:-59 for the start time. I checked with Studio 60 and it's start time says -2:-59.

I also recorded CSI:Miami at the same time and it's OK.

Rebooting the system deleted these two recordings, drat!

Thanks,

I'm going to reboot the machine to see if that fixes the problem; but this is weird.

That is the unwatchable bug.

Once you reboot those recordings will disappear from your HR20

Studio 60 recorded fine for me last night ( on at least one of the hr20s :) )
I have had the exact same issue with NBC for the last 2 weeks recording Las Vegas in SD. That is the only channel I have had an issue with lately. I was watching it while recording it and noticed that I could not Pause, FF, Rew Etc... but other channel's worked fine. When I went back to the recording it was unwatchable.

I had the same issue with NCIS when I first got the unit in September and deleted the series link and then added it back and that has worked fine. I did the same thing with Las Vegas so I will see how that works this week. I have not gotten the latest upgrade yet.
Any problem that I've had with recording or just plain broadcast problems has been with NBC. I had to watch the Sunday night football game on my bedroom tv.
It would appear that it is a locals issue, both Heroes and Studio 60 recorded for me without error last night. Makes it seem like it maybe isn't an issue with the HR20.
I was able to record Heros, but only after I moved House to SD. Was a re-run anyway, so I didn't care. Studio 60 recorded fine for me, but the sound was in and out.

This isn't a solution or anything, but if you missed them and need to see them, you can watch both shows on NBC.com for free, plus Sci-fi re-runs heros on Fridays at 7pm. You won't be stuck.
Heroes did not record correctly for me either last night. I believe this is the first 'unwatchable recording' for me. I am still on 0xe3.

Reading through the posts this morning it looks like this (not recording Heroes correctly) was a common problem last night? I am in the DC locals market.

This problem was made more annoying by the fact that I knew it was recording as unwatchable when I turned my TV on about 45 minutes into the program. However, I COULD NOT rewind, replay, etc. the LIVE recording to go back to the beginning.

Luckily we have been backup recording our favorite shows on our SAT-T60.
I am also on Oxe3. I've got frequent recording problems popping up. Las Vegas, Lost, Real Time with Bill Maher, and Heroes sometimes record and sometimes they don't. They are set to record the series including all repeats (just in case). Tonight I tried monkeying with the Prioritizer to make sure my favorite series were at the top of the list. Moving two series to the top of the list caused the recording software to go nuts. I was no longer able to select any additional programs to record, any series to record, or to delete anything set to record. Nothing but blue box instead of record menus. To top it off, all of my recordings on the VOD then suddenly disappeared. I then pressed the reset button. To my relief, about half of the recordings on the VOD list have returned. I lost about 10%, but not everything. Now the recording features seem to be working again.

Yuck. This box is sure not reliable.
Does anyone think that this might be a problem on the upstream side of things like at the local station or between the local and DTV. Or between DTV and the satellites ? Why would the problem have to be in the HR20? If the input feed is messed up enough it might explain why some folks have trouble and others don't. Since we have different local affiliates.

Just a thought
Heros was only a partial recording for us. Even though the history said "recorded". I'm not real happy this this box at this point! We can't rely on it to do it's main function... Digital Video RECORDER!!! It's not supposed to be a Digital Video REMOVER!!!
I had the same problem with Heroes. Now that I think about it, many of my problems seem to have been with the local NBC station. My wife and I were watching Heroes. I tried to pause it during the show (which was recording in HD) and found that I couldn't pause, rewind, etc. When I tried to start the recorded version, I found that it had a negative start time. Pressing play brought up a blank screen. Seems I am not alone with NBC problems.
I have never been able to record or watch The Office this entire season. Too bad it is my favorite show besides 24 and I work at the time it is being showed. So much for record and watch later.
My first bug ever Monday night. Still running the older software, 0xE3. Studio 60 only recorded the first minute. Listed as partial in recording history folder. MPEG4 (WXIA in Atlanta), via component outputting at 480i to SDTV. This is why I don't trust the HR20 enough to make it my primary HD-DVR. Relying on the HR10 for most HD recordings. I'm glad I only paid $20 S/H for it.
