Late last night (12/31) we tuned to our local channels to find a message that "Due to Technical Difficulties This channel is not available." We checked all of the other Fargo/Valley City channels that we subscribe to and it had a blue screen with the same message.

After about an hour we called the Tech support phone number and the girl that we talked to seemed totally clueless but put us on hold. About 5 min. later she got back on and said that her 'supervisor' had said that there was indeed a local outage but could give us no timeline or idea when this would be corrected, or what exactly the problem was.

There was quite a bit of bad weather(snow/sleet/icy conditions), but that should have been resolved overnight or at least by mid-day today. Just wondering if anybody else has heard anything about this or knows anymore. We've had these channels since Feb '05 when we first had Dishnet installed, so we are well within the area where we can receive these. Any info would be appreciated.

It appears they finally have come back now, ALMOST A FULL 24 hours later. Wow. That must deserve some sort of account credit.

Definitely. 1/30th of your $5 per month for locals comes to $0.17. Demand your refund for the outage!

Just for the "math" reasons (..if for nothing else) --------> if take it as 1/31 ----> 5/31 = $0.16 cents :)
Unbelievable. That's all I can say about that call to E* about this weekend's festivities. They gave me a 2 day outage credit of 48 cents. Grudgingly, I will admit. After arguing with me for a couple minutes, putting me on hold for a couple more. The rep then stated that that had ABSOLUTELY no outage and that was the first she had heard of it.

Even after telling her that their OWN recorded message had said there was an outage in our area for the local channels and that the person I had spoken with that night also confirmed it after speaking with their supervisor. You would have thought by the tone of her voice that I was asking for the keys to Charlie's Porsche.

Anyway, I guess all is well that ends well.

Hehe.. Good story... :)

Glad to see all is well now.. and, hey!, .48 cents is better than nothing.. At least you got something back from them for that outage :)
