I knew this wasn't going to air saturday. I checked the guide and it listed a re-run. Friday when I heard about the episode I had to set this to record and it listed the Hee-Haw Hee-Haw title. Of course I knew it would be milked and they would pull out at the last second with an official announcement.

Thanks I'll be here all week.

The sad(?) thing is that each set of twins reportedly went through with the stunt, and only one set of twins could have won the $50K, so I wonder if any of the contestants now think it wasn't worth it...

I don't watch TMZ but I saw the video on their web site covering the "story" and the reactions were great... scroll down on the TMZ page below for the video. It's SFW.

a new low for NBC. The quality shows that used to anchor this network are now just a long distant memory.

Sorry.. the new low was when they have pushed Whitney as much as they have...

Honestly, this wasn't to "surprising" for Fear Factor.
You know these people that get accepted to the show, are practicing for different "food" events, as typically that has been the one that is the worst.

As the physical stunts, you know that they are not going to let you get serious hurt...

Fear Factor is mimicking those Jackass guys. One of them drank a glass full of Horse chowder right after they collected it. This was nothing more than a publicity stunt to drive up viewing numbers. Whitney needs to go and just focus on 2 broke Girls.

The thrill of this show has to be getting on tv because the $50k/2 contestants after taxes cannot be it, so doing the stunt and not being aired must really suck. my $.02
I'm not sure how Fear Factor works but I do know from personal experiences that some shows have a clause which allows the producers to withhold the prize if the episode does not air.

Now Imagine doing this for nothing more than a free trip to Los Angeles.

That would make for an interesting court case.

In the agreement or not.

It would be like going on to any game show... you win, the big prize...
But then the show got canceled, or they didn't air your episode... so it is an easy out for them to not payout on a mega prize....
