I've been wanting NFL Sunday Ticket for the last 10 years or so. The beginning of which was when I was in high school and still lived at home. There was no way my parents would get rid of Comcast and get into DirecTV. 10 years later, I've convinced my wife, or at least talked about it enough to the point she's just given up and said "do whatever you want" :), and DirecTV is being installed tomorrow. After the deal going right now it was hard to resist. I can't wait until football season this year. I'll finally get to see my 49ers play (read: get beat) more than once this year. :D

Congrats!!! You're going to love it. Now do something nice for your wife if you want it again next year. When I first got it I had to talk my wife into a $2200 10' dish in the back yard.

First :welcome_s to DBS

Second, I have had the Ticket for 11 years now and couldn't live without it. I get to watch what I want. First and foremost, my team (See Avatar on Left), but second any other game, not just what the local station shows (Dolphins:new_sleep  ) It's the best thing since sliced bread.

I had that same problem when I lived in West Palm Beach a few years ago. It was either the Dolphins or the Bucs. The only way I got to see my Steelers play just about every week by going to bars. In the 4 years that I lived in West Palm Beach, I know that I visited just about every bar from West Palm Beach to the Broward and Miami-Dade county border.

Congratulations .. You'll enjoy .. I'm kinda opposite, I want to watch the Panthers .. I see too much of the 49'ers out here
Oh man, I'd switch with you any day. :) Here in Richmond all I get to watch are the Redskins. It's painful because I really don't like them and yet everyone here in Richmond does. So all I hear on Monday is, "Did you see the Skins game? Oh man, they gave it away again at the last minute!" At least this year I'll be able to say no, I didn't see the Skins game. :D

Did you get the superfan package as well?
Yeah man! They included it, essentially at no charge. The CSR gave me an even better deal on their current Sunday Ticket promotion, so once I added Superfan, my first 4 months will come to the current promotional price.

Guess I am blessed. My WIFE threatened problems if I didn't get NFLST/SF for HER! She's the one that had to have the HDTV...it was a sacrifice, believe me!

She's also the one who bought me a motorcycle for my birthday a few years ago.

I have the best wife a man could hope for!

Im about the same.

My wife is so great she is going with me from Ca to texas to watch the Cowboys play the Eagles on MNF in the boys home season opener.

Tix 300 a pop. Air, 300 a pop. Hotel car rental, stadium tour, food.........easily going to be 2k.

Wanted the plasma for the game room, no problem, new pioneer receiver, no problem, new 61 inch dlp, no problem.

One of these days I going to want something and she will say it is a problem. In 20 years that day hasnt happened.

I also am very lucky.

It is so nice to see and NFL ST thread where people have, are getting, are happy! All the others are about people complaining they did not get something for free and are cancelling.

Welcome and enjoy! Go Steelers!

There’s a group of roughly twenty Steelers fans in my hometown that all chip in to purchase Sunday Ticket at my friend’s house and watch the games on his 100” projector. We take turns making the main lunch dish and everyone else makes snacks (dips, chips, deviled eggs, hot wings…you name it, we make it!) Fried turkeys are an essential on opening week. It’s basically a mini-Super Bowl party every weekend. We’ll watch the Steelers games, obviously, but watch snippets of other games as time allows. We each pay $25 a season. My biggest challenge is getting the better half to let me sneak away to go watch the games each weekend! I sit and read all of the threads about the costs of Sunday Ticket and SuperFan and wish everyone did what we do. Plenty of good times with good friends and no worries about the costs.
