Yes, Fox broadcasts in HD here in New Orleans. All of the four national networks are in HD here. Unfortunately the only carrier in the New Orleans market that does not have the locals in HD is Dish. Hopefully soon.
OH, so NONE of my locals will be in HD???? :eek2: I only have the hd package (turbogold) so does that mean my locals are non existing since I only get hd feeds?Albie said:Yes, Fox broadcasts in HD here in New Orleans. I hate to ask but does D* have the locals in Nawlins in hd?
Where are you at in new orleans? You can get all ota.todbnla said:I guess my big concern is: will I be able to watch a fox hd (abc, nbc, cbs too) broadcast like "24" on another fox hd feed, not on my locals? I sure hope so...I am not really concerned about my local news in HD, but rather the shows I am use to watching on those channels, when we had cable on the Northshore of N.O. ,it was locals for those shows or nothing, now I hope I have a backup to watch all of my network fav shows in HD....?
And if you have a DVR like the 622, it's even handier because you can record two shows while watching one. Also, you'll have less compression.dennispap said:Where are you at in new orleans? You can get all ota.
Depending how far you are , you might only need rabbit ears, you might need outside/attic antenna.
I have not been there in years, in fact, last time I went anywhere around there was when I rode in Endymion for 10 years, the buses would take us from the dome to the city park staging area the day of the parade in the morning, we used to try and bribe our drivers to stop off for just that reason,BTW, can you go to Parkway Bakery and fedex me a roast beef poboy dressed?!
I was born and raised in 'nawlins as well. The Mid-City parade used to start in my front yard on S. St. Patrick St. Now my brother and sister live in........Covington!todbnla said:We just recently moved from Slidell after a 35 year stay to "New Chalmette" (Picayune, MS) since the Slidell area is the new "Nawlins East!"...![]()
Looks like Jackson has locals in HD w/dish so I may see if I can switch there...? Born and raised in nawlins but I gotta say, their is nothing there for me any longer, it will never change, ever. And I still work in the area too.
Not sure if you are in the spotbeam for jackson locals, plus they are on the 61.5 sat. Do you have a dish pointing to 61.5?todbnla said:We just recently moved from Slidell after a 35 year stay to "New Chalmette" (Picayune, MS) since the Slidell area is the new "Nawlins East!"...

So if thats good do I sign some sort of waiver with E* to get that markets' locals? Not sure if you are in the spotbeam for jackson locals, plus they are on the 61.5 sat. Do you have a dish pointing to 61.5?
Birmingham, al have the major 4 in hd, plus they are doable in the new orleans area on 119 sat, tp9 i believe which you probably receive. Check your signal strength on 119/tp9
As for the grounding, call your installer if he left his number or E* if he did not, the job has a ninety day warranty. As for out of market locals you will have to change your service address, mods really don't like us to talk about it in here but, use the forum search box and you can find some threads that will help you learn how to do this.todbnla said:So if thats good do I sign some sort of waiver with E* to get that markets' locals?
