No negative effects. But if your box isn't authorized to receive the update, which at this time it's not, forcing will just cause it to re-download the software you already have.

Welcome to the forums. :welcome_s

You lose all the guide data each time you reboot and it takes up to 24 hours for all two weeks to repopulate. (The system works by populating near term stuff immediately and then the rest based on how far out it is.)

You lose your setting for ZIP code in the weather section of the interactive pages.

Beyond that, not much. There is some risk you might not get a successful software load, but just force again and you'll be good.

Just in case you haven't gotten the message, here is the bottom line: Don't bother. :nono: :nono2: :eek2:
It won't get you the update and you will hassle with a bunch of stuff for no reason.:) :)
