So I'm watching Ravens on ST HD and the image is streched vertically! All my HD ST channels are like this. Weird thing is, when I change channels the image displays correctly for a couple of seconds, then stretches vertically.

AND the FORMAT button doesn't work in ST HD channels! No response from the unit at all. However switching to my lcoal feed (CH2) showing the SAME GAME in HD displays correctly AND the format button works fine!

This is true for ALL my ST HD channels. The format is HD allright, but the image is streched vertically.

Other channels are fine...

Anyone else?

Changing format during a recording will not effect playback, or mess it up.

He is not having the problem watching a recording. It is happening during live TV. He just said that he was recording the game at the same time he was watching it.

It's not just him. I had the same problem today too. Although the exit trick worked, it should still work without yet another workaround!

Why is it that EVERY function on this machine requires some super secret knowledge of a workaround?! I'm waiting for one which requires us to hold a gallon bowl of water while standing on our heads and pressing the EXIT button twice, followed by two right arrows and a press of the REPLAY button! :nono2:

You already have a thread about this problem here ....

Yup, and I referenced this post as a continuation of the original becuase the problem was not as I described in the title. (edit: looks like the post referencing this thread in the old one didn't post, fixed) This problem is a lot broader...

I wish I would have known about the 'exit' trick. Which page in the manual is THAT one on :nono2:

Are people only seeing this on ST channels by and large or is it other channels too?

I put this in the other thread as well. It forcess the specific mode because the interactive features of Sunday Ticket require the screen mode being shown the way it is. Hitting exit is actually exiting the interactive part of Sunday ticket, which also means the picture no longer has to be a specific size.

Weird (read: sounds like a bug to me). Doesn't make much sense as those overlays should be able to be in any format...

But thanks for the information. I'd much rather DTV turn off all the 'interactive' BS and just let me watch TV without having to bug the forum with dumb stuff like this...

Thanks again!

I have noticed that alot of my channels now have letter box style black bars on the top and bottom. They did not appear this way before. It's not every program on each of these channels either. Seems random.

My HD channels do the same thing every once in a while too. Usually LB(letter box) would be displayed on the Channels Info if it was actually letter box.
