I recently converted from Comcast cable to Dish Network and noticed that the local FSN (FOX Sports Net North) is the Minnesota FSN North. When the Wisconsin local sports live broadcasts occur, they are on an "alternate" channel which I am allowed to see. The Minnesota live sports broadcasts are blacked out, which is what I expect.

Does the Wisconsin "FSN North" channel broadcast over satellite on its own channel, or am I stuck with watching Minnesota sports shows? I have asked Dish Network, but they seemed confused by my question.

FSN North-WI does not have its own channel. you are stuck with the minnesota sports shows with the wisconsin sports on the alternate channels. see the note for channel 436 at http://dishchannelchart.com/
Probably shouldn't say this but I DO get Fox Sports North Minnesota and the Wisconsin alternate channel when there are events. It seems odd that they would black out the MN sports on his end in WI but not me from receiving his alternate channel.

both Dish & Direct do this. They uplink FSN North MN version and on the alternate channels is Wisconsin sports

In MN we are blacked out of all WI games but college. In WI, you probably get blacked out of all MN sports but college

There are a couple other FSN's that are like this. Houston, Utah & Indiana have their "own" FSN but the games are on alternate channels and they get the nearest one (FSN SW, FSN Rockey Mtn & FSN Midwest)

I've never noticed (the only thing I've watched was Twins games) but since I live in Iowa I should not be blacked out of either, I guess it's time for a check.

I have the FOX Sports package. I get both Minn. and Wisc. College Hockey games if televised, plus other colleges, the only reason I have the package. I get none of the Major League Pro sports except on FoxSW. Service address for the winter is in south central TX. Depends on where I am in the summer as to what MLB I get.
