Free Showtime???

So I looked at my account on Directv.com and noticed that Showtime was listed in "My Services". I confirmed that I am getting the channels even though I never signed up for them or got notice that I was receiving them. I don't want to call just to find out its a mistake and have them turn them off. Anyone else?

I don't know what their doing but week before last i was getting HBO and max and last week HBO and max got shut off and shotime got turned on,nothing was added to my account so i figured i shut up and enjoy.:) Now no more freebies.
I am staying at my relatives house and the same thing is going on here, they do not subscribe to showtime either.

I checked my home account and it is not doing it, no showtime there.

Maybe it is related to the Loyal Customer program?

There was an HBO free preview back then, and there was just a starz free preview.

But there has been no word on a showtime free preview, and previews are usually just over the weekends, not the middle of the week!

Some people are being given Showtime free for three months as part of the Loyal Customer program, but for whatever reason, they don't notify you of that I don't think. If you've been a customer in good standing for five (or three?) years or more and September is your anniversary month, I would say that's what you're experiencing.

thats classic directv....u just couldnt write this stuff.
I signed up in June 08 and got a free year of Showtime. Does that help? :)
I remember I got 6 months of Showtime free for a 1 year anniversary with D* and that was like 4 or 5 years ago.
One CSR offered me free show time too for a year but after she told me it was going to be a month for my install I canceled with them and went thru a local installer. Since I have the NFl Sunday ticket promo I have it anyway...
I got a postcard in the mail about a month ago saying I was getting Showtime free for three months for my anniversary with DirecTV.

One month, and I have only found like 5 things to record. Oh, well, it's free and I didn't have to ask, beg, or threaten anyone to get it, so I will just enjoy it while I have it.:)

I have that deal to but after the first four months are up then it will still be another $14 or so off your bill even if you do have that deal.

The new season of Dexter is starting very soon. That is worth watching. I must admit that their channels have been lacking for years.
I got some free showtime as well. I called them to deactivate a D11-500 and activate a H20-200. When the CSR asked if he had satisfied all my needs for that call I said, "How about some free showtime?', he said OK and that was it. Maybe they are on a marketing fling right now.
Like the OP, I see the free showtime on my account as well. It's a recent thing as it was not there a week or so ago. I have not checked at home if it is coming in. This month is my anniversay month, so perhaps it has somethinh to do with that. Like others, I got no notice that I know of. No email at least. Maybe there was a note on my bill statement......oh, yeah, I don't get those anymore....
I had to call in the other day and without asking the girl offered 1 month free Showtime and $10 off my bill a month for 6 months.
i got 3 months of free showtime starting august 22 i posted a thread about this already.
i have been with D* since 12/94 i have a 4 digit acct#
so i guess your anniversary month doesnt matter
i could care less as i don't watch those channels
I would rather see a MUCH LOWER PRICE for NFL-STfor us long good standing customers.
I didn't renew ST this year,i have had it since day1 when it was $99
The price has gotten out of hand, but thats an other issue in another thread.
I'm not getting it here. I was suppose to be getting Starz free for 6 months but even that has gone away (after 2 weeks). When I called and asked about it, I was told there was nothing noted on the account about it and the nothing the CSR could do to help me..

No big deal, Haven't really had a lot of time to watch movies anyway..
FWIW ... I logged into directv.com and noticed that it is an anniversary gift. 12 months for free. :D They could have told us though.
