i got a message (in the on screen message center) saying this will be turned on from April 22, 2012 thru April 30. tried to tune in as i only have Choice, it is not on.

anyone know why this is not on, did DirecTV forget to turn this on?

Choice Extra channels not available here. I called and got the typical CSR BS run-around. Some of the Choice Extra channels show but about half or more DON'T. So much for Directv's honesty in advertising.

The free trial is for the channels that you get by going from Choice to Choice Xtra. It does not include the channels that you would get if you have the Choice Package. This means if you're in Entertainment or Select you will only get those 46 channels and not the channels that are in the Choice Package.

i'm happy, the only channel i really wanted was 831 which is a Sonic channel that plays indie rock. it's pretty good but not as good as Sirius XMU. i actually miss the DJ's.

they are playing Wilco right now.

If you are in the very basic packages that they don't even advertise...many of the free preview channels will not be offered to you. I remember a few posts from people that complained because they have the family package because of small children etc...but werent allowed to get all the premium channels and things during a free preview.

With that said this is the first year with the Entertainment package so it's plausible that in the future we will see Choice freeviews.
