Add a SWM-LNB/SWM-ODU and be free of BBC's.

I just installed my SWM-LNB/SWM-ODU. Almost forgot that the BBC's are not only no longer needed, but that they interfere with receiving a signal, thus they must be removed. Thought after wiring the new LNB, the PI and the eight way splitter that I erred somewhere. Then I remembbered the BBC's. Removed BBC's............ ahhhhhhhh! Signal back.

Rather expense approach to replacing those free BBCs :)
Paid for all my *stuff*, I have installed all since 1995. So if a BBC went bad, getting replacements wouldn't be *free*. With two per DVR, it is a bargain to be done with them.

Also noticed some better signal strength. :)

You could still get the BBCs free even if you bought your receivers separately most likely. You are still a Directv customer ;)

But yes, the SWM is very nice technology for those who need it, a bit overkill just to get rid of the BBCs though.
