I just bought a HDTV, and the standard channels are horrible as im sure you already know. I was unaware of this when I bought it.:(

So now im going to get some HD :D

What I want to know is if DirecTV offers any kind of free upgrade to get an HD DVR? Any help is appreciated. I'm gonna call them tomorrow, but I really wanted to know right now.

Did you tune your TV? The SD on my Panny look fine; not HD but good nonetheless.

They are offering free HD DVR's to new customers in conjunction witht the NFL Sunday ticket deal. E* is offering free 722 also, you might schedule an install with E* then call D* with a date you want your service turned off, maybe they will offer you a free one to keep you. I Think they want at least 100 dollars from exsisting customers to get one.
