Folks, the following article has some serious spoilers .. view at you're own discretion

'Friday Night Lights' exec producer previews third season

This year, the 13-episode season will start on DIRECTV .. NBC will show the episodes (as new) in early 2009.

One spoiler that was interesting (not a plot spoiler):
There is a possibility of increasing the length of each episode - and including slightly juicier content - for the run on DirecTV, but nothing has been determined yet.

I can't wait for the return. The only thing I hope for is they get back to playing a little football this season.

even with as little football as they played last year...... it was still a very good show

I agree it was still a good show but it is a show about high school football and it would go a few episodes between showing them play football last season.
Rumor has it Street and Smash have been shown the door to save a little money. My guess is they know they have 13 episodes to wrap stuff up.

Will it be in HD on DIRECTV?
It is going to be on channel 101 which is a HD channel so I assume it will be since it has always been in HD.

That doesn't mean that those of us who do not have HD will not be able to watch it, does it?

No, there is a HD and SD version of the channel. I was just saying that is possible for it to be in HD.
Wow, I've never read an article about a show that's given away so much in terms of spoilers before... usually the producers want that kind of stuff to remain a surprise.
