Another show I haven't seen any threads on. I'm not sure where it's headed, but the wife and I found the first three episodes very entertaining. We think this show's a "keeper". Curious if others agree.

This is how I judge sci-fi. If my wife likes it, shes not a sci-fi fan at all, then it will be around a long time in my house.

Good point! Same here. I'm very surprised my wife likes both Heroes and Fringe. :) /steve
I'm a week behind. The first two episodes left me a little concerned. It's no longer appointment TV in my house, but it has some potential.
It's a keeper for me...but I'll watch just about anything.
I quit after three episodes. The more I watch it, the more it looks like an unsuccessful X-Files reincarnation. What irritates me the most, is the geeky scientist and his son. So, enough is enough.
I like the concept as well as Anna Torv in the lead role. I am wondering if the mentally unstable professor and son roles might not get a little boring in the long run. However, since shows with a good SF theme always seem to be in short supply, I will continue to tune in. I just hope it doesn't get too hoaky or turn into a "monster show".

Stuart did start this 28 post thread Fringe "The Same Old Story" 09/16/08 **Plot Spoilers may be included** and I started this 46 post thread Fringe - 9/9 "The Pilot" ***Discussion Could Contain Spoilers*** but I guess we both got behind what with all the premiers and having a life other than TV. I haven't watched last night's episode.

In my household it is also one of the few scifi shows with "spousal support" which makes it a must see for now. As I said in one of the other threads, I hope the three very busy producer/writer's hire a couple of writers to get a consistent, solid base going. I have no problem with the X-Files-like pattern of a "shocking" opening followed by a "police procedural" approach with the "evil corporation" implication.

The genius father-son pair could work if they don't get too Eureka-ish without intended humor. And that's where they need some focused writers, to avoid ending up with a hoaky SciFi Channel Saturday movie feel.
I watch it, but I'm not sure it has legs. It's definitely unpredictable.

I tried to watch it last night for the first time, but the good-ol 'gray screen recording' bug got me.

Yeah I know...wrong forum. ;)

You can stream full episodes from fox.com if you have the patience. It does take some patience.

My bad! I must have fumble-fingered my forum search for Fringe, which came up empty. :) /steve

I hear ya on the patience...I'm located in the stix and my broadband is s l o w.

I'll catch it on the re-runs and keep my Series Link set...I'm determined to watch it next week!
I watched one episode and I am confused. I like scifi but I must have missed something by not watching all of the episodes!
I may watch it one more time to see if I like it any better.

This is definitely a show you can't just "drop in on", IMO. Try to watch episode one on-line. /steve

This is what I hate about the new system of having a pilot that introduces all 37 characters and 16 plot lines. (Just sarcasm, but its how I feel about the 3 shows with mediocre ratings and your out approach to programming - even M*A*S*H would have died under this concept.)

Just watched this week's episode. Writing is tightened up. Thought it was good to fill out the back story of genius father and son and bald guy. In the old days of TV, even as recent as X-Files early years, that back story would have been 30% of an early episode as a flashback. And it would be way too soon for her to start seeing dead people. But oh well, I have to accept the new approach. Kinda like reading a Reader's Digest Condensed Book.

I do like where it's heading.
We may even get to see where that is. Just caught a headline on thefutoncritic that Fringe has received a full season order. So all Fox has to do is air them. In order.

Why nobody would air a show's episodes out of order, would they?;)
That is what I was thinking :D
Thus far I like it, yet I'm only 2 episodes in.
