Strange concept.
And for the low price of $25,000 (plus the optional Blu-Ray drive), it could be yours. No, thank you.bhelton71 said:He may have heard about the ITC devices and confused it with something 'new':

They will build one with an HR2x and a BluRay drive.
Just trying to figure out where the installer got the idea - no plan to purchase one myselfgregjones said:And for the low price of $25,000 (plus the optional Blu-Ray drive), it could be yours. No, thank you.
Cable has one of those? Never heard of it.RonH said:I had a new HD-DVR added Sat. and the installation guy mention he had heard that DirecTv might soon have a Receiver/DVR with built in DVD player like Cable does. He also said it could be BluRay. Has anyone seen or heard anything about this?
As I have said often, I even hate print/fax/copy machines. Shoving a lot of functions into one box just means it will be less efficient at all of them. I don't complain about MediaShare only because I see it as a road to MRV.tonyd79 said:Cable has one of those? Never heard of it.
It is a bad idea. Two pieces of electronics that can break in one box.
Some cable companies have Std. DVD player built into their Receivers/DVRs but they don't have any type on BluRay players. I know the installer really has no true info on this but it was odd he even mentioned it. Just thought I would ask here since you guys would know more about it.tonyd79 said:Cable has one of those? If you build an HTPC with a BD drive and eventually the HDPC20 device - I think you're covered. But I get the point - the purpose built consumer device like the ITC seems a little ridiculous. But they started up last year so they must be selling to someone ?myselfalso said:I think this super component device is clearly something of dreams. Even though I'm sure I could buy it, I take it for a grain of salt. Just reading this thread, seems like some are taking it a bit too seriously.
But, it's a point taken, nonetheless. If someone's going to buy it, I'd bet that $25,000 is pocket change for that person.
Huh??? I thought all the insiders here knew about SWM... (Ah the ambiguity of the English Languish...)kturcotte said:Our "Insiders" here would know about it LONG before an installer would. Most of them don't even know about SWM yet.
You know I meant installers lolTom Robertson said:Huh??? I thought all the insiders here knew about SWM... (Ah the ambiguity of the English Languish...)
