General Satellite Access Question

776 Views 4 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  jdspencer
I have been a DirecTY customer for quite some time. I have an older, round, dual lnb dish that works fine for now. At some point in the next 6-9 months, I suspect I will want to move to the HD stuff.

My question is this: Given that there are 5 satellites I will need, can anyone point me to a web site that can help me figure out what my "window" into space will need to be? I know that this varies depending upon your location. I just want to see if it will be feasible at all, given trees et al that might be in the way.

What I am hoping for is something like www.antennaweb.org but for directv.

Your current dish looks at 101

The HD one goes from 99 to 119. So you need about a 20degree angle
We're just passing the optimal days to use the sun's position to help you site your satellite dish and verify a clear view of the key satellites. Read more here ....

You can also go here: http://emantechnology.com/lookangle.asp
Enter your zipcode and select each sat that you need information for.
