So, if I understand correctly, if I have a genie, it will provide the list of recorded shows for the other clients. Therefore, if I wanted to record an adult show for viewing in the bedroom, would the fact that it was recorded be visible in the family room on the genie itself? Or on other clients? That could be a problem.

If the other clients have parental controls set up it will just say "blocked title" on their end.

"Dad, what are all of these 'Blocked Titles" in the list?", asked my eight-year-old daughter. Or the baby sitter. Or my guests if I decide to play a non-adult movie when we have guests over. I wish there was a way to just hide them from the receivers with the parental controls enabled.

If you really want to prevent the curiosity factor, you might want to get a HR2x (non-Genie) DVR just for the bedroom and you could make it not share playlists with the other receivers while it still can see the playlists on other receivers.

It also adds an extra safe guard if your kid really gets curious and tries to figure out the parental control password. (Not sure how good your password is, but when I was younger my mom always made it her anniversary or some other signifigant date like my grandma's birthday, even the last four digits of her social security number wasn't safe as soon as it was time to start filling out college applications, lol)

Not to get too far off topic but i had hid the Adult 590's but evidently left 195 or somewhere around that open on accident. I dont mind the adult channels, to each his own, but i do think directv should censor the descriptions a little bit better. They basicaly spell it right out what is going on in the info mode.
