Genie is the product name that DIRECTV is using for their Home Media Center (HR34 DVR)/RVU client (C31 RVU Client) hardware line. It's also the name they used for a feature on the HR34 that notices your viewing patterns and records in the background other shows that might be of intererst for you to watch.
