Channel 1100 says unavailable

I tried watching True Blood online but it says I don't have the right package. I have Premier.

I have a 22 mpbs but John Carter is taking 5+ hours to "record". Is that normal?

It won't let me set my DVR from my laptop. It says Please Try Again.

Do the receivers have to be on to record and download?

no but some ISPs are restricting DirecTv Ondemand.
The max the DirecTV servers send is about 7-8 Mb/s, which is enough to start watching fairly quickly.

It takes 24 hours for the internet functions to kick in....download speed depends on your ISP...what is your speed? I can DL a HD movie in like 45 minutes and I have Cox Cable 12 Mbps

Isn't that basically illegal? Comcast got in trouble for doing things like that.

I'm not a legal expert, but I do know my cable ISP did it to me and changing ISPs resolved it.

I believe preventing access is against FCC rules (but there have been some in Washington wanting to overrule that), but throttling is allowed.

I think that is what VOS is referring to. The download is throttled enough that the download of the VOD takes a long time.

I have Comcast. Never a problem with downloads, but my uploads are definitely throttled.
