After reading the horror stories on here I was worried that my installer wouldn't know what he was doing. This couldn't have been further from the case. The tech who came out was training someone and I guess was starting up a new subcontracting firm here in Columbia and had come over from St. Louis. The tripod I had set up did not work because it was like 6" too close to the building and the installer suggested using c clamps on the railing because I am not allowed to drill. That worked perfectly and he used 2 monopoles to steady it and I have most signals in the 90s and lowest signal is 84. Awesome job!

Did a DirecTV installer come out, or was it a third party installer? I have an install scheduled for October 11 in Columbia and would like to get it bumped up if at all possible.....

A few people have said that if you log into your account online daily and check the change install that they were able to get an earlier date. Let us know.

I have checked that site every few days, and without fail, the soonest install date has been at least 3 weeks out.....I will keep trying though and let you all know.

I checked today (I have been checking daily) and got the install date moved up from the 11th of October to the 2nd.....thanks for the tip!

Keep checking. You never know it could happen even sooner but thats great. Nice jump up there. I wish I had known about it when I had mine done.
