Very odd thing happened tonight ... I've had lousy 110, but passable all summer long here in our AK fishing camp.

One of the kids visiting a couple of days ago, apparently knocked the dish around a little bit and I hooked the cheapie in-line signal meter around and got back to a level of about 15-20 on most Tp's, so I called it good. Well, today, as I prepped to back ... I pulled the meter off and had zero across the board for 110. Changed the connector on the cabling at the LNB and still nothing. So I hooked the meter back up, tweaked a hair ... and had loads of readings in the 50's and 60's ... even TP 3 which we never got all summer (much to the saddened mind of our 2 year old daughter who fell in love with Tec the Tractor last sping on Baby Channel) is coming in strong. Now, as soon as I pull the meter off, I get nothing ... but with it in place ... it's by far the best I've had in the last few years.

Any suggestions where I might start to figure out what to do to make this work without my signal meter in line forever?

Scratching my head ....

What kind of Dish setup do you have (dish type and switches)?

Without knowing anything... one random thought comes to mind... if the switch is not getting enough power from the receiver (or power inserter depending on your setup) perhaps the meter you use provides just enough of a boost? I've seen weirder things happen before.

Either that or you're hitting a satellite other than 110, which is fooling your meter but not the receiver.

I'm running a 622 with a SW 64 switch and an Invacom LNB. I just checked things again ... with the cheapie meter in place (no power here, just one of those $5 Ebay jobbers), 110 comes in great. As soon as I remove it, no signal at all.

I do have the power insterter in place, but it's on the 119 side of the setup.

Bad switch perhaps?? Very strange in my book, but I'm not too up on all the in's & outs :)
