Following yesterday's strange forced re-boot of all HR 20 receivers, San Francisco OTA channel 9-1 has vanished from the guide. . . . .Not just my visible guide - it has disappeared from the possible stations list, so it can't be added to anyone's guide. To the HR 20 (and I'm guessing the AR 20 OTA tuner) it's as if this station doesn't exist.

Interestingly, the other sub-channels of KQED (9-1. 9-2, 9-4) are still available in the guide data, as are the OTA digitals for the other SF stations. Unfortunately, 9-1 is KQED's main HD channel, so it's the one that counts.

Also, I checked with a direct OTA antenna connection to one of my sets, and channel 9-1 is one the air and broadcasting just fine, so the problem appears to be at DirecTv, not the station.

Anyone else notice this? Any way to find out if DirecTv is aware of this glitch?

Problem solved. (I would have figured it out much earlier but for a red herring symptom discussed over in the CE forum.)

Yes, the internal guide data was somehow corrupted during the whole lock-up/reboot business such that OTA 9-1 (and possibly other channels) became invisible. To get that channel back, you have to go through a complete re-do of your OTA setup.

1. "reset" local channels
2. enter your zip code and wait while the local channel database is downloaded
3. scroll through the list to make sure 9-1 is selected "on"

Now go back to your guide, and the missing channel will have re-appeared.
