Please point me to the thread that discusses the following; With this NEW GUIDE the top and bottom of the information is cut off now. I can not see the time for instance. I have a RPTV connected via COMPONENT cable to an HR10 series. Thanks.

Sounds like your RPTV just has too much overscan on it.
My guess is the overscan is really bad on your rptv. I've got a buddy in the same situation, he knows the tv needs to be replaced, but can't swing it right now. He is used to it when he is at home, but when he comes visits he sees how bad the overscan on his rptv really is. NOw all that being said, maybe you just hit a button on your tv remote that changed the picture settings and you have some kind of zoom mode going.
My bad, HR20-700 is the correct box. I have triple checked all settings. The overscan issue did not occur until we received the updated guide.
Go into the setup of the TV itself and set the aspect ratio to 16:9,
also, set the picture to normal instead of zoom or crop, etc.
See if that fixes it.
If not, try the Format button on the DirecTV remote to see if that gets the picture to fit the screen.
