Over the weekend I've noticed that moving through the guide has become very sluggish. I've tried fresh batteries and the situation persists even with two different remotes. Yelling at it didn't help. Hardly ever does.

I have noticed the same thing but for a longer period of time. Compared to a H20 the Guide is VERY slow. Wateh the show title when you change channels. The channel number appears and then a couple of sedonds the show title changes.
I even tried swearing and it didn't help either.

I have noticed the same issue also when I scroll through the guide with page up/down I know I only push the button once and it moves the screen twice.

I brought this up a few weeks ago and most people said they hadnt notcied. I wonder if it is related to having more things on the to-do list?

On a related note, I still would like to have someone explain why they made the hr20 so guide-centric but then didnt make guide data persistant after reboots. Why does it take days to refill the guide after a reboot? Shouldnt this info be on the HD and restored almost immediately? It is not like we are talking about GB of data here.

The problem is it's not stored on the HD. I believe it is a constant SAT feed.

One of the few reasons I thought I would like the HR20 compared to the HR10 was the guide speed, so I hope they improve this with an update in the near future.

I agree, it does seem to relate to the last upgrade. Today, for the first time, I'm experiencing sever sound drop out. Prior to the last upgrade I also saw inadvetant jumping ahead two spaces in the guide. Now it's just the opposite. Press the button three times to get the light on the display to respond once. As much as I liked the HR20 at first I am now getting frustrated.
