Tonight at 8:00 local time my Hopper and Joey did a little crazy thing. PTA was set to record as well as one show on the DVR. This should have left me with one tuner to watch anything else I wanted to. At 8:00 the system would not let me do this, it started PTA and the one recording but when I pressed the red button to switch to the other tuned it was showing a guide update. It was forcing me to either watch the same show being recorded on the Hopper and the Joey or watch one of the PTA shows. The only fix was a system reset (according to a "senior tech support person"). Once we did the reset I was able to use the two different tuners or watch PTA. Why would the system try to do a guide update at 8:00 PM and lock you out of one tuner?????

If it does an EPG update it needs a SAT tuner to do it... I didn't know they did updates like that except when in standby... but maybe the Hopper behaves differently since it has multiple tuners and maybe it co-opts one sometimes to do an update if the tuner was not in use?
