Today my HD channels in the upper register started pixelating
badly to the point of almost lock up on screen. I've done the
reset and everything looks good upon doing a strength test
Transponder 12 is going from a 70 strength to absolute zero
and holds at zero for a few seconds and jumps back to 70.

No other channels are affected and this drastic jump is only
showing on the on transponder. Any ideas, clues, hints?

Is the H20 your only Receiver? If you have more than one, try swapping the H20 with another receiver to see if the problem stays with the "bad" H20 or if it's only a problem in that room. If it stays with the "bad" H20, then you have a defective Receiver. If it's only in that room, then something is wrong with the cables, connectors, dish LNB/multiswitch feeding that room.

No, I've got an R10 & R15 also and they are working fine.

Great. Then try swapping units as I suggested to see if it's a defective unit or something wrong with the cabling/feed to that room.

I unplugged the unit when I went to sleep this morning and plugged it back in when I got up and then did the 02468 on the remote and it redownloaded the updated software and it appears to be working.

Where do these numbers H20-100, -200, -300, etc...appear?

H20-100 refers to the model number which you will find in your setup system information menu.
