I have read that the H20-600 is having some over heating issues which cause it to spontaneously reset. Mine completely locks up and goes to a black screen sporadically. Sometime after being on for a few minutes, and sometimes after being on for hours. It does not respond to anything via the remote or front panel. The only thing I can do is press the red reset button or unplug it. Every now and then when it boots up my favorites lists are erased.

Anyone else seeing this?

Yes, I also had these same problems. I had the H20-600 receiver for 10 months, and the last 2 months were the worst, locking up (especially when trying to watch any HD content), and also overheating. If you have the D* Protection Plan, call and speak with a representative, and tell them that you have the H20-600, and tell them the problems you are having. I did this, and I received a refurbished H20-100 within 2 days time. I was a little leary of a refurbished receiver, but so far so good.

Best of luck to you :D

The issues have not started yet with my H20-600, but I've only had it for about a month.

I really like the receiver. I leave it on native and it syncs much quicker when changning channels than my HR20.

I've had two 600's for two weeks now, and both of them periodically (about once every hour) lock up and stop outputting to the TV for about 10-30 seconds, but they always fix themselves and resume normal operation after that.

One of them also stopped displaying HD channels (giving a searching for satellite signal message). I reset the box once, and that caused the HD channels to completely disappear from recognition. A second reset fixed the entire issue, and now I can view HD on it just fine.

I can also confirm that they run rather hot, which is probably the cause of the periodic stoppage of output.

With these problems with 600 why is D* still sending them out the door? It must be costing them allot of money to keep replacing them. I have a 100 and it has given no problems over the last tree or four months. I am getting another H20 and the new dish installed on Saturday and I just hope that it is not a 600.
