It's unbelievable to me that DirecTV has taken so long to provide an update to the H20 which enables the "Active" button functionality. This receiver has been out for a LONG time now.

Does anyone have some inside information??

Yes...

The latest I have, is that the software has not been approved for public release. AKA, the testers have been finding issues with the builds for the units. As of this moment, there is no information on a new target date.

I have a new panasonic projector that will not work with HDMI cable. I have an H20 I called D* and they said a software upgrade is coming but would not tell me when

HDMI ISSUE

I wanted to post here so there is a record of my HDMI problem:

I recently upgraded my projector to a Panasonic PT-AX100U. Since doing so, my H20 100 video output using HDMI connection doesn't work anymore. There is no video displayed at all. I know it's not the HDMI cable itself becuase I've tried 2 of them adn they work with other components and my projector. The H20 will work using component cables.

After calling D*, I was told that this is a known problem with some display devices (TVs, projectors, etc.) and the H20. I was also told that a software fix is "in the works" but they weren't sure when my H20 would get it. The last software update I received was on 8/26 (which is 100C), the day I first became a D* customer. There are no updates "scheduled," according to the Schedule section on my H20 receiver.

I havee the same problem. I was using the HDMI cable for about a month when it stopped talking to my tv (JVC). Direct Tv sent me a new box which didnt do anything so I am connected with component cables which is still good to watch with but I want to use the cable I bought. Dircet Tv did say there was an update on the way before the end of the year.
