I just got two H20s for Christmas, but the problem is that one of them has to be in a pretty awkward position that makes using an IR remote difficult at times depending on where you're sitting in the room. Because of this, I'm considering getting an RF remote, but how do I get an RF antenna? Do they come with the remote? I've read all about the ol' jumbo paper clip solution, but I'd rather use an actual RF antenna if I could.

My H20-600 came with one (as well as an RC-24 RF-capable remote). However, you could make a suitable antenna by taking a short (6 in. or so) length of RG-6 coax with an F connector attached and stripping off most of the outer jacket, braid and foil, leaving the inner insulation and center conductor.

You know what, I realized I have an RF antenna from an old RCA box that I disconnected to hook up the H20. That would work, right?

I just got an H20 as well...mine did not come with an RF antenna.

It came with the RC32 remote...does it have RF capability??...the manual says that it doesn't but I thought I read somewhere that it does?

the RC32 doesn't have RF and the RC32rf does...the name speaks for itself.

Now...where to get the RC32rf and rf antenna?

You can get the RC32RF at directv.com, but I don't know if you can get an official antenna from them.

You can call and order the rf remote and antenna for $30 from a CSR.

My receiver came with the rf antenna but it never worked. The installer messed with it for about 20mins.

I bought an RF antenna from 2000networks.com. It cost $20 shipped. After I ordered it I realized my HR20 didn't need the antenna (its built in) and on my H20 I didn't want to use RF. So I ended up with one for "just in case" I need it on the H20 in the future. I did order the RC32RF remote for $25 from directv and it does NOT come with an antenna. Its well worth the money though as the buttons are much larger and easier to read and they light up.
