We currently have the HR10-250 with 3.1 software. D* told me a week ago that we would be getting the 6.3a ungrade Oct. 19th. I have been reading about all the problems associated with the upgrade and the problems many are having with the HR20-700. Wondering if I could go to the H20 and a series 3 TiVo. Is it possible to record HD, and regular tv from the H20 to a series 3 TiVo?:confused.

No. You can only record OTA HD with a Series 3 Tivo. You can also record cable HD utilizing a cable card or two. There's no way to input the HD signal (in HD anyway)from your satellite into the Tivo 3. You would have to record in SD.

The TiVo Series 3 has no inputs for external video sources.

It only works with CableCard interfaces or ATSC OTA broadcasts.
