I have a DTV H21 receiver that I would like to use in more than one room. First of all is the H21 RF ready (built-in), but just don't have the RF antenna like the H20? I know that the previous version H20 is IR/RF capable, but I don't have one of those receivers YET. Is there a way in which I can get my H21 receiver RF capable to use in my second room? Is there a directv recommended or aftermarket RF unit that I can add on and use for my purpose?

The H21 has an internal RF antenna. All you need is a DIRECTV RF capable remote. If you don't have one you can order one from DIRECTV.

Thanks for the welcome and information. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the remote (RC64) that comes with my H21 receiver....Is it only an IR remote and not RF capable? So which DTV remote do I need? I know there are several to choose from and I want one that has back lit. Is the RC64RB a good one?

I believe the current one DIRECTV is selling is the RC64F. Below is a link to the remotes on their site. You just need to select the RF one.

If it has the FCC sticker on the back of the remote it's RF capable and will run any Hxx or Hrxx product.

Some units have an internal antenna others need and external antenna attached to the back of the unit.
