H24 "To Be Announced"

When my H24 shows the guide for the first couples hours after a receiver restart but then after a few hours all the channels say "To Be Announced"

Any ideas why this is happening.

Guide flush
Yeah, but it sounds like the guide info was there after the reboot, then gone a few hours later. That's not a normal flush.
It sounds like he doesn't have the dish configured properly in the settings and so it's only getting the guide data when tuned to specific channels.

Have you gotten an OSD about it?

Sounds more like to me the OP is saying the first couple of hours in the guide have data but anything after the "few hours" that are listed say "To Be Announced". That's normal after you reboot an H24.
I'm missing the 119 satellite could that be a problem. My HR24 is all fine with the guide and its missing the 119. Also the channel logos are not showing up.

Not getting signals from 119, means not guide data when you're tuned to channels from the 103 SAT.

Since its only happening on one unit there...recommend perhaps either a powerdown and plugging back in on that one unit might clear it...or else re-do on the Dish setup.

Figured it would be worth a try.

It's worth a shot, but it may simply come from the other receiver being on the 99 SAT.

Which lnb do you have, a 3 or 5?
5lnb no swm
You'll continue to have guide data problems until you either fix your 119 reception issue, switch to a SL3, or convert to SWiM.

How would converting to swim 5 fix it?
Yes, since the SWiM always uses guide data from the 101 SAT.

Good to know. Thanks

But why don't my HR24 have the guide problem? And D12

The D12 is probably always looking at the 101 SAT and gets guide data from that. The HR24 has probably been sitting in a channel from the 99 SAT. It will eventually have problems when it is tuned to a channel from the 103 SAT.

In the stack plan, the 101 and 99 SATs are combined on one set of lines and the 119, 110, and 103 are on the other. Guide data is duplicated on the 101 and 119 so, no matter what stack you are on, you get guide data. In a SL3 lnb, the guide data from 101 is combined into the 103 SAT.

Edit: this post has the stack plan... http://www.dbstalk.com/showpost.php?p=2778487&postcount=7
Do you have a line of sight issue? If not, it sounds like a bad lnb.
