I think I remember seeing it when you can use a different remote IR code so you wouldn't interfere with each other. Can I make my Harmony 880 learn that code?
Yup, you can. As spartanstew said it might already be in the database though, so take a look before you go about having to manually learn the codes from the OEM remote.
I have an HR21-700 and an HR21-100 in the same room running off a Harmony One remote. When setting up the second HR21 on the Harmony web site I just had to use the remote set to the AV1 position (the slider at the top of the HR21 remote) during the Harmony setup to identify the secondary remote code set.
The second HR21 also needed to have the remote setup configured for the AV1 settting.
Use code 00001 for the first one on the DirecTV position. Then for the 2nd one use code 00003 on the AV1 position. Then you can learn both to the Harmony (assuming the codes on the Harmony web site don't work). Look for posts by Edmund the remote god to get full details on what to do.
Hey guys after figuring things out it was quite easy. I punched in 3 button commands with the original remote set to AV1 after setting it to 00003 and it said it already knew a better set. Worked beautifully.
Note that the on screen help incorrectly says to use 00002 - after a couple of calls to DTV, this forum previously set me straight. 00003 is the correct one.
