Okay, let me word this more carefully. What appeared to be a general freeview was advertised for some time. Someone, somewhere, noted that it was on Dish. I just used that as an example. Clearly D* is not releasing it as such. How general are these things, then... and how do you find out? Thanks (I think) - N0AAA

There are sometimes carriers have exclusive FreeViews.

If you don't see the freeview advertised on that channels website, it is usually then a carrier exclusive.

Like a few weeks ago when DirecTV had Starz... but they had an exclusive on the Chicken Little premier.

I am a little confused. What got me looking in the first place was discovering with NO notice whatever that the sports package channels were open a few weeks ago. I never saw an announcement for that. Someone published a website that announces freeviews... without indicating sources or who sponsored them or who would receive them. I believe they indicate that Cinemax is having one next weekend but, again, they don't say who is sponsoring it or who will receive it. To go back to the 25 or so sports channels, that was never advertised by anyone; certainly not D*. Thanks for the input. --N0AAA
