For those interested HBO came on at 3:00 a.m. Pacific time. I guess it will be an all weekend thing.

Thanks, I had forgot about it!
Can someone provide a list of the movies worth recording, on any of the HBO or MAX channels? HD only please. I know I can do it myself, but I was hoping this already existed.

I'm pretty sure my movies worth recording would not be your movies worth recording...

Should we feed you your breakfast too? "Already existed"?? huh? what? There is a button on your remote called "GUIDE". Go from there... Did that Help?
It's a shame the DirecTV online schedule is so limited kind of lessens the benefit of the online scheduler functionality.
Hbo & Cinemax
Wow. I went to add them to my custom guide and I only added the HD versions of HBO/Max. Sure didn't have to add very many. Now I see why people are complaining about the lack of HD on the premiums.

Have to say they have very good PQ though.

Biscuts and Gravy, with bacon. And I like real cream in my coffee (fresh ground Please).

Every time there is a free weekend I go through the guide and the end result is my realization that HBO or Showtime or whatever is not worth paying for.

I was just thinking the same thing. It reminds me why I don't buy the movie channels. The only thing I found that I'm at all interested in that I haven't already seen was 300.

Thanks for your helpful reply!

Do you have a solution SIMPLE solution for those of us who are not in front of our TVs?
the guide is accessible at directv.com
One thing that will be worth recording, for those who don't know already, are the premieres of "Entourage" and "True Blood" this weekend (on Sunday)

No coincidence that the premieres fall perfectly into the freeview.

I have them scheduled as I have HBO, but unless I had a pretty good idea that I was going to subscribe, I doubt I'd ever watch one episode of a series during a free preview.

My experience with the movie channels is a little weird. I will carry them for a while and then decide that it's all a waste and decide to dump them. And then, all of a sudden, there is a good boxing match on HBO and a few good movies on Cinemax and I end up up giving them another chance.

The problem with them is that they raise my expectations too much. With the 30 of them I am expecting that at any time I tune in there should be a quality movie (ideally in HD) that I have not yet seen starting in 30 minutes or less. Ideally, if you get them, you should really ease up on going to the movies, PPV, Netflix and Blockbuster and let the wave of movies come to you.
