Not sure if this is the place for this so mods feel free to move if necessary. Curious if any other Direct tv subscribers are having issues with signing in at HBOgo & MAXgo after installing Microsoft Security update KB2585542 which was passed down thru the last automatic updates. I have run into this issue on 3 of my laptops after installing this update. I will get a "not connected to the internet" message when the sign in box appears. This is on 2 Vista machines (1 32bit & 1 64bit) and one Win7 64 bit machine. I have tested it by installing and uninstalling the security update a couple of times and whenever it is installed I cannot login at either site.

Win 7 64 same thing with IE9 and Chrome.

Thanks for the heads up. I don't use this service but my Daughter does. Guess I'll be getting a call this weekend unless it gets fixed.

Maybe I'll get lucky Firefox is the only browser she knows how to use, although mine didn't work either. I did have to update flashplayer to get it to work at all.

I tried firefox again, IT WORKED, what a relief.....

Wierd, just retried it for about the 5th time on this machine I'm using now and bammm, it now works in both IE8 & Opera. :) :) On prior installs I was restarting after each install and uninstall as the update would force me to for the install/uninstall to take effect. On this machine it was originally installed on the 13th and had gone thru numerous shutdowns and restarts since then. Who knows, I guess another one of the worlds great mysteries. I will try it again on my other machines and see how it goes.

2nd machine now working, Win7 64bit IE9. On this machine it was installed on the 18th and never removed, but it had still been thru numerous shutdowns and reboots over the course of 2 days but was still getting the error until now.

Could be that HBO and Max learned about the issue and fixed something on their end.
