That's the difference between signals via OTA and Directv. OTA means you don't have to go through Directv.
I pick up my local OTA HD channels, theyt are downrezed by the R22 and I have the ability to DVR them too and now I do not have to pay $10.00 a month to get them...wesmills said:Nope, they let me drop my HD access, too.
I think this is rather fair of DirecTV. They should treat HD access as a programming add-on (like Showtime or Sports Pack), not an "enabling feature" required if a HD receiver is on the account. If, for some reason, someone only wants SD channels (I know, heresy), then let them. Happy customer means they pay longer.
