The recent problem with 0x5cd has caused me to question the exact functionality of the DVR when native is set off and resolutions are limited to 1080p.
Various people have talked about using the DVR to up convert the signal and limiting the output to 1080p by only selecting 1080p in the resolution setup (on the DVR) and turning native off.
However, it appears that the HDMI handshake problems occurs when the DVR attempts to walk up the resolution to the receiver and there is a mis-match between the handshake and the actual signal. Can output resolutions be limited in the DVR, or does it attempt multiple syncs no matter what the settings?
If anyone knows, it would help me understand what is going on with 0x5cd.
THANKS....
