So, the current Dishin' Up offer expires on 7-31-08. This basically consist of $100 upgrade fee for a 622 and varying prices on the 722. Does anybody know if the new deal will be any better or different?

I don't know about the Dish'n It Up offers, but the new customer offer is going to be pretty spectacular: All of the premium movie channels for a full year for a penny. That's going to get a lot of peoples' attention.
Wow, I bet it will get them new customers in the door. Maybe the new upgrade deals will be sweet also.

For real?
I just wish DISH would give a #[email protected]! about their existing customers.

Give new customers free premiums for a year for $.01 and charge your existing customers huge amounts of money to add HD.

Then they wonder why there's churn in the industry?

I know how you feel but, you never know they might let current customers have this offer. They are letting them have the 1 penny cinemax deal and have been for a long time. I am sure you will have to have paperless billing and cc autopay as a new customer to get it.
The reality is that Dish has been losing badly to DirecTV, as well as to AT&T pirating their Dish-partnered customers to Uverse. There is speculation that they might post the first ever net LOSS of customers. They are hurting and know they have to do something drastic to turn things around, and that's what the upcoming offer is all about: bringing in new customers.

If you're an existing customer, you already got a "new customer deal" at one point, plus you are (or have been) eligable for various Dish'n It Up upgrade deals. Expecting to be entitled to every new "new customer offer" is not realistic. It doesn't work that way anywhere else in life either. You think anyone who bought an iPhone last month is going to get a free upgrade to the 3G version? Ha!
The only "new customer deal" I ever got was… hmmm, they didn't really have any when I installed my system myself back in 2002 or so.

Meanwhile the Dish'n It Up deals pale compared to anything offered to new customers.

Don't use the cell phone industry as a comparison; they're just as bad.

Bottom line is, the only way to "win" as an existing customer is to switch back and forth between D* and E* every two years; sad but true.

The five premium movie channels are just the five different Cinemax's. No biggie.
