So I have had the HR20 for about 3 weeks now and I was playing around this evening and I noticed that I am getting HD on Channels 2 (CBS), 4 (NBC), and 7 (ABC) here in Los Angeles. The programming is definitely HD, because I compared it to LA2, LA4 and LA7 which are Direct TV's local feeds. Up until today I have was using the Direct TV HD Channels that are 81, 83 and 87. Is this a recent addition?

No, those are your MPEG4 channels beamed from the new Ka-band satellites. Chs 81, 83, etc are your MPEG2 HD channels beamed from the Ku-band satellites. Only LA and NY have those MPEG2 HD channels, and they're likely to be replaced by the MPEG4 channels during 2007.

Ah, that makes sense. I just had the new dish installed so this is the first time seeing those channels. Thanks!!!
