HD Issues

I am having a VERY strange problem and I am hoping someone can shed some light on this. Lately, my HD locals are going in and out. I check the signal strength for the Sat and they are mid-upper 90s, but I still get a searching for signal. I tried a different receiver and that seemed to help for about 2 months, but the problem is back. I am really at a loss. I have switched cables, B-Band converters (that came with the new receiver) and still no luck. Some nights it will work perfectly and others it will just go out in the middle of a show. This happens for my locals and some national HD channels (HBO, Starz, etc.). I can, however, go to some other National locals (ESPN for example) and they come it perfectly fine. Are my receivers going bad, is one of my LNBs going out (even though it reports a high Sig Strength?) or is it something else. I just can seem to figure this out and I am at my wits end. I dont have the protection plan and I dont qualify for an upgrade, etc for another year.

ANY help, ideas, suggestions, etc would be GREATLY appreciated. I really want to get this fixed before the Fall Season starts.

Thanks in advance guys!!!

If you find that the signal loss happens close to the same time each day, usually during the heat of the day, than I would suspect a bad LNB. They can fail and still show good signal strength and can also be selective in causing just the HD locals to go out and nothing else. Once the evening cools the unit begins to function again. I have had this happen to me, and have seen others report similar symptoms.

Thank you! And it does seem to be mostly at night after the dish has heated up and begins to cool back down again. I appreciate your help!
