WDSI Fox
I haven't seen a picture since yesterday. It's nothing but a black screen today, yesterday, it would intermittently show, but it seemed to be affecting other channels. When you changed from WDSI to another channel, sometimes there wouldn't be any audio on the channel you switched to, I would have to change channels again to get audio, then I could change back and everything would work.

Evidently WDSI is doing something very strange in their broadcasts, I've heard several reports of OTA customers having it actually reboot their HDTVs and the same for Dish.

I have cable and the station has been on the air the entire time, I'm using an HD Homerun for QAM and it hasn't had any problems at all.
Just thought I'd drop another post about the HD channel problems in Chattanooga, at least for me:

WDEF-DT CBS, can't watch it live, it stutters and jumps and is a horrible picture, can skip back about 6 seconds and it plays fine, but the audio is ahead of the video by 2 or 3 seconds.

WDSI-DT Fox, Haven't seen anything but a black screen since late Wednesday night.

Can somebody confirm they're having the same problems or not?

Yesterday during the Tennessee game the audio was off by a few seconds and today my picture has extreme pixelation and the audio is still out of sync.

As for your problem with FOX 61 everything is fine for me right now and I haven't noticed any problems.
Anyone else having problems with Fox61? HD DVR keeps dropping the sound, regular receiver keeps dropping the picture. Seems to be the only channel that is doing it. Co-worker reported same issues on their system.

Missed a good bit of House M.D. because of this (having to watch over antenna now). :flaiming

Yes, and it's doing it on Comcast, it's a station problem, I dropped them a message on their website, it's pretty much unwatchable tonight, Terminator wasn't good last night, but it was a lot better than House is tonight, it's progressively getting worse as the show goes on, the audio dropouts are killer, I can almose survive the pixelating, but the audio dropouts ruin the show completely.
Thanks for the quick reply.

Wonder why over the air seems to be OK? Maybe just the feed to the cable/satellite companies is screwed?

Oh well, at least I can watch Fringe over the air. :)

You're saying that OTA HD is ok? that is strange, I figured Directv or Comcast would be OTA, but maybe not, whatever, they were both terrible and the last I checked Fringe was breaking up just like House.
yea, antenna is picking up signal fine. a few minor breakups, but that's usual for where I am. Still better than DirecTV signal.
Michael6, I'm having problems with both 61 and 53. 53 seems to be the worse offender, but both are pixelating, losing audio, and occasionally freezing. I just had HD installed Saturday and the installer came out yesterday for some add'l work, but to no avail.
I got a reply from WDSI about the problems, I found out this morning that it was affecting the SD feed also on Comcast, that is good, that about guarantees they know they have a problem, which the reply I got from the web contact form verifies anyway:

Hello…we had a failure in our studio to transmitter link which is causing glitches. The replacement part needed will arrive early today. Please bear with us while we fix this issue.

Should we contact WFLI to see if we can get the same info from them? They apparently have the same issue as WDSI.

Actually they may all be related, I don't know for sure, but I've gotten two replies back from WDSI, one about another question and both emails had the logos of WDSI, The CW Chattanooga and MyTV Chattanooga in the signature of the emails.
You're right. If you check Wikipedia (which I did after I saw your post), both 61 and 53 share studios and transmitters, so if WDSI gets it fixed, both channels should work correctly.

Just got another email from Fox WDSI-DT a few minutes ago, stating that the problem should be resolved as of 11:30am this morning. Sounds great, I asked him in the reply if they were associated with WFLI, if he answers I'll let you know what he said.

Edit: Got a reply about WFLI:
Yes, our 5 station group bought WFLI about 8 months back and we moved all of the station into our building (quite a job)
Don't know if any of the WFLI problems are related though.
Well, they were good to their word, as far as I can tell, WDSI has been perfect all night, I haven't noticed any glitches, dropouts, nada. Bravo.
Well, no one mentioned it in here, At least I don't think they did. We now have WTCI, the local PBS, the guide lists a lot of shows in HD, but it certainly isn't the HD feed. Anybody know what's up with that?

Does it show up in your Guide as "WTCI" or does it show a two-letter city abbreviation and the channel number?

If it's the call letters, congrats! You're getting a local MPEG4 HD feed of PBS before Nashville is. If it's just an abbreviation/channel number, it's a mistake in the Guide data.

it's listed as 45 WTCI, on the info screen it's listed at the top as A3 Chattanooga WTCI PBS, it's also described as WTCIDT-TV. It is not the HD feed from them though, I get the HD via my comcast and it's not it, it's a feed, but it's got the guide listing for the HD station, but the feed looks like the analog version of the channel which has different programming.

In the guide listings it is 45 WTCI.
Anybody been noticing audio dropouts on Channel 9(WTVC), I'm only watching a couple of shows on the station, but last night Pushing Daisies had I guess a 8 to 15 second section where there was no audio, and it happened again during Private Practice, and I'm pretty sure I noticed it last week on Private Practice. I've watched a few Football games on WTVC and didn't notice any dropouts.

WTVC has been notorious for these audio type problems ever since I've been able to get their HD programming. How long does it take to remedy these things?
