I live in Twin Lakes Wi.

I have an HR20 that I have been using in a room and getting Chicago locals no problem.

Recently I have switched my locals to Milwaukee and my channels will pixalate purple/greean whatever picture in the background freezing or stuttering with grean /purple patchy junk on top of it.

This is only on the locals and the HD version. I can change the channel to a national channel and all is fine but when I go back to any local channel I get the pixalation again will eventually clear up and comeback intermittently.

Is the Chicago and Miwaukee locals on the same transponder? I am pretty sure there on the same spot beam.

Also, what location and transponder are they on I want to check my signal?

For what its worth....my brother lives in New Berlin and still has TWC cable...until he gets his install done next month.

He also has local station "pixellation and stability" issues with that service on HD channels...so at least some of this problem may be rooted in the local stations and their broadcasts (or re-broadcasts of national feed content).

I saw this personally just last month, and also 6 months ago as well. He had a high-end 52" HDTV, and all the right connections...so having seen this over some time...my guess is there may be a combinations of factors resulting in incosistent HD transmissions....some may also be on the DirecTV feed too.

Awesome that helps.

Milwaukee's HD locals are on transponder 18 and my signal strength is 95 on both tuners.

Is anyone else getting an error message when trying to watch the Brewers vs. Pirates in High Definition this evening? My HR21 is telling me I have not purchased the channel, but I've had no issues at all this year with watching games in HD (when they were available), plus it's broadcasting in standard def. I also confirmed from a buddy of mine that it IS being broadcast in HD through Time Warner, so I am curious. I called D* and they were confused and said it was not broadcast in HD, but it is.

Anyone else experience this?

This isn't the first time this has happened to the locals.

IfI'm not mistaken this happened about a year ago too.

I don't remember the resolution to the problem at that time if any.

You might want to consider calling the local station engineering department to report it (nicely). Most of the time, they welcome that feedback information, and need to "tweak" some settings on their end.

I went through that in another city several years back.

Being a former native (Bay View)...I always like to help my fellow Milwaukeeans.

If its all the stations, best guess is that its likely a combination of things.

I'd still report it to the stations anyway...just to let them know what you are experiencing.

On the DirecTV side...it could a side affect of them moving around some transmissions on various transponders in advance of NFL Sundey Ticket, the launch of the upcoming D12 sat, and moves from Spaceway 1 to Spaceway 2 of certain channels. They'll have to address their end too.

I fail to believe no one has seem this problem yet.

I finally pointed it out to my buddy and now he is seeing it, he did not watch locals until because of football season.

This is a serious issue.
