Has anyone noticed that KPLR 11 has switched to strech-o-vision on there HD channel and the SD channel has the sides cut off and is unwatchable?

Anyone else having this issue? I am having this problem on all of my HR2x and H2x receivers. If I tune to the SD channel it is fine and I know that Directv is using the the Digital signal for the SD channel and the OTA feed is not having this issue either.

I am also getting audio problems too :(
Yepper, I reverted to the TV receiving the signals.

I guess that is what I am going to have too do until Directv gets this fixed.
Watching KTVI-DT MPEG4 via H20-600

Really bad pixelation and audio dropouts during 24. For our sake I hope its a FOX issue.
Yes, I am having the same problem on KTVI Fox 2 HD. I had to switch to the OTA antenna. Man, this had to happen during 24. :(

A little earlier I also had 771 on tuner 2 for KMOV CBS 4 HD. So, I don't know if it is related.
KTVI Fox 2 announced during their news cast that they did have issues with their digital signal during 24.

I gave up on it at 7:30 and watched the Blues/Oilers.

I checked all the locals when this happened and no issues at all.
Since they changed the frequency, I can no longer get this channel via over the air on my DirecTV receiver. I know the signal is OK since I get get the channel via the same TV. Any ideas how to update the PVR so that it can find this channel again?

I have tried unplugging it, rebooting it, and doing an initial setup on the over the air antenna.
I am not sure yet. Hopefully soon we will have an answer soon.

Try this. I just found this post over at AVS and they said it worked. Go to Setup Menu --> Sat & Ant --> Antenna Setup --> Reset Off-Air Settings. That will take out all of the OTA settings. Then select "Initial Setup". It will then re-setup your OTA and 4-1 should then be there.

It didn't work for me last night. But, I am just outside of the coverage area right now. So, here in about 2 weeks when they up there signal again I will try it again.

I work for Channel 4 and we did in fact change our digital frequency Sunday night at Midnight. We went from digital channel 56 to digital channel 24. We are currently operating at a reduced power level on a backup transmitter until our main transmitter gets a new antenna for channel 24. This could take up to a month to happen. At that point, we will be operating at full power. If you are outside the St. Louis metro area much, you may not be able to get our signal via OTA. I'm in St. Charles, and I'm getting about 60% on my signal (I was getting 92 before the switch). Our transmitter is in South County, so the farther you are away from that, the worse your reception will be until our main transmitter is back online.

You do need to go into your setup, antenna and do a new OTA setup to see if you can pick up our signal on the new digital channel. I did it last night on my TV and my DTV unit and like I said, I'm able to get us OK in St. Charles.

Also, I'm getting for free (I'm not sure how long) the locals via DTV as part of this whole digital switch. Look for it at the regular 4 (not 4-1) on the DTV and you should see us in HD if you have the HD package.

I hope this helps... if not, let me know and I'll try to ask around here to help you out.

Greg,

Thanks for your help and information. Our main problem was how to get our AM21 to do a rescan. I think we may have figured it out. But, I live in Sparta, IL and I think we are to far to get your signal until you do the next boost of power in the first part of Feb. So, I just might have to wait until then to see if the rescan works on the AM21.

Thanks for keeping us updated.

Michael
Just FYI for the St. Louis area. Fox 2 KTVI and CW11 KPLR News is now in HD. Making all of St. Louis News broadcast in HD now. :D
It comes and goes, but I'm having issues with pixelization on most if not all the locals. For sure 2 (Fox), 4 (CBS) & 5 (NBC). 5 seems the worst but maybe it is because I watch it the most.

Any suggestions?

Those channels seem fine to me now. But, right now I have noticed Channel 11 HD is having alot of problems that last couple of days.
I'm getting pixelization & audio stuttering during the Blues game tonight, had to switch to ota to watch the game, at least its in HD.
