Has D* offered anymore information on the next regions to come online for HD Locals at CES? I would really like to know when my market will get it. Though it probably will not be for a long time. Since I live in the Sioux Falls, SD DMA. Like 112 or 114 I think.

Buffalo is supposed to be up by end of this month
I think we all heard that up until a few days ago.

If it does, good for Buffalo.

If not, don't be shocked.

Until things happen, I am not believing them. Too much BS fed to me.

Directv just told me the date for Buffalo locals is now "To Be Determined"
I got an e-mail this morning from D* saying that Greenville/Spartanburg was still on track for this month for HD locals. Big 4 only, no CW or MyNetwork. I'm waiting with baited breath.... :)

I was also told we would get the locals in Greenville area in January, but that looks like it's not going to happen seeing as it's the 31st. :(
:) :) Got an email from CSR on 1/30/2007. Apologized for the delay, but, HD channel (local) will be available in the Greenville, SC area on 2/14/2007, however the channels are yet to be determined.(????). Anyway, will wait and see. (again)

The e-mail I got in mid January said no WB or UPN. I inferred that meant yes to ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox and PBS. Rereading, however, they don't explicitly say that. I guess we'll wait and see...

FYI there is no more WB or UPN. ;) It was replaced with the CW network.
But in any case, HD locals will only include the big 4 (ABC, NBC, FOX and CBS) and only those that have contracts in place with DirecTV. For example in my market our NBC is owned by LIN and thus isn't on DirecTV. LIN sucks.

I would not anticipate PBS at all.

Hello, been lurking, 1st post.
I'm an E* sub considering switching to D*
On HD locals, I noticed Huntsville, AL and a few others say "Not Yet"
Does this mean they are in the plans? Will they be anytime soon?

I've been told by E* that Huntsville HD locals are not in the plans for 2007.

Thanks

TULSA,OK is reportedly getting them in about 2 weeks. Per D* rep yesterday.

P.S. They were not the only rep I've talked to over the past month that has told me this.

(huge caller center in Tulsa have anything to do with it?)

I wish they would light up OKC market as well. Take care of the entire state and be done with it.

Hey, apace, I am in S. TN. just North of H'ville a UHF antenna works great in this area, unless you are behind a mountain. A lot of people are getting good results out of an indoor antenna, specifically Zenith Silver Sensor. Try www.antennaweb.org and see what it says. PM me if you need any specific info.

  Got another email yesterday, 2-14-2007, Guess what? S.O.S.

"Thanks for writing about getting your local channels in HD. I'm sorry, but we have made changes on plans of carrying HD local channels in your area. Because our satellite capacity is still limited, we're not able to provide your local channels in HD at this time but we plan on carrying them on mid-April this year. Be sure to stay tuned to directv.com/HD for the latest news about HD programming from DIRECTV.

Thanks again for writing and we appreciate your patience."

Sincerely,

DIRECTV Customer Service

I wish they wouldn't do this. I can allow for much from those with whom I do business. Telling me one thing while another is actually true isn't one of those things. I hate being told "this will happen by this date" and then it turns out to be not even close.
