I have a question about the channel structure of HD locals vs. SD locals

First the "facts":
I have a 622 with an over-the-air antenna hooked into it.

I live in Los Angeles and subscribe to the locals package and get both SD and HD locals.

My local HD channels are in the 6000s.

OK...that all being exposed, when I go to my program guide, on what seems to be the over-the-air channels I see for NBC:
004-00, which I would assume to be the SD signal...it's blue on the guide.
004-01, which is definitely is the HD signal...it's yellow on the side.
004-02 and 004-03, which are also yellow and are the other NBC digital channels.

On those occasions when we need to record 3 things at once, the third channel is going to be one of these over-the-air channels. HD if it's a really good show, SD if it's something we don't want to be taking up 7x the disc space for.

We were watching a show the other night that was recorded on 004-00, and it was widescreen, clear, logo-closer-to-the-center...it seemed just like an HD show.

Is the 622 somehow mapping HD signals to what should be an SD channel? Am I just wrong that 004-00 is an SD channel?

Thanks!

You determine the mapping priority, HD or SD. It is in the Local Channels page.
Menu >6 >9
If you select HD as the priority, the SAT HD locals will map down in your EGP as the -0 from the 6xxx range.
If you select SD as the priority, the SAT SD locals will map down in your EPG as the -0 from the 8xxx range.
The OTA, -1 remains the same with either selection, and will always appear just above its respective SAT local.
The "blue" color has no bearing. Both the HD and SD SAT locals are blue, and the OTA's are always yellow.

Press you guide to bring up the 'All HD' listings, see if the mapped down are sd or HD. If you want to change, you can do it in the 'Local Channels' screen. The default is HD, so if you never set it, it should be the HD channels in the mapped location. This feature did not work when the 622 was originally released, but has been working for many months now.
