I'm guessing this has something to do with your local station as it was HD the entire time OTA on my local. This was the same CBS local that had the Bengals - Ravens game showing SD for 1/2 an hour before they figured out what (or that something) was wrong.SteveinDanville said:

I thought it was especially ironic that not 10 minutes after the big announcement that Dish Network's Turbo HD was supplying the HiDef feed, that the picture switched to standard def for about a half hour. Good job by all involved!

I can't get OTA so it was either the uplink, CBS itself, or Dish.
