Good day to all. I just purchased the new Samsung 1080P HL-S6187W and had D* installed with the HD programing. After the installation was completed the tech connected the HD20 receiver via componant cables and the picture had a "flicker" from bright to dim. He suggested going to HDMI but when I installed the HDMI the complete picture would go black every 2 to 4 seconds. I have read where there is a know issue with the HDMI connections, after the fact, but has anyone experienced the flickering with the componant cable. Everyone seems to say they are working. Could I have a problem with the Samsung??

PS. Took the set to a friends house connected it to a Dish VIP622 and everything worked fine.

Known problem with H20 100 HDMI. D* said will fix in next software update. But that was over 6 months ago.

I have the same problem with a Samsung 42"DLP (720) when an HDMI cable is connected to the TV from the Direct TV HD Cable box and Either the 720 or 1080i is sent from the cable box the picture rolls or holds for a second and flashes off and on, but when 480i is sent from the cable box the picture is beautiful. Whats up with that? Anybody out there had this problem, if so, what did you do?

I just upgraded to the H20-100 and have the Exact same problem with a 42" Samsung DLP feeding it 720-1080 resolution through the HDMI digital connection!! :( The component output of the H20 to the RPTV looks Great, all the way through 1080i! With the other known problems of the H20-600, guess I'll keep this H20-100 on component as it does look and sound Fantastic!!! :)

Wow, what Improved PQ from my previous H10 receiver!!!!! The SD "digital" channels look Sooooo Much Better...Ready for the upcoming local HD broadcast and the 150+ additional national HD public channels D* is advertising! ;)
