I need someone's help badly. I recently was sent HD component cords for my receiver because the rep said that my HDMI Port on my receiver is bad. Instead of replacing my receiver she sent me HD component cables and I have them all hooked up the way they are suppose to be. On some of my HD channels I get the message the it is Searching for Signal (771). I have done everything under the sun as far as resetting, checking for anything on the dish itself to unplugging everything and plugging it back in and still getting that message When I press the more info button it talks about the SAT and pointing the satelite and all this other stuff that I certainly do not understand. Could someone please tell me what I can do and try and resolve this problem.. Trying to watch a baseball game that is not HD SUCKS!!!

This has nothing to do with the component cables, other than now you can see the HD channels.
The 771 is because there isn't a strong/enough signal for those channels.

Maybe go into the menu, then settings, and then SAT.
Go to view signal strength, and then check the 99c & 103a & b screens.
Try to post what the numbers are and maybe we can help.

No, you won't.

And you don't need to know what the numbers mean, that's why VOS suggested you post them - someone else will decipher them for you.

Checking the numbers won't mess anything up. "other than" interrupt recordings if they're going on.
Higher numbers are better than lower, but you should really post them here, cause we can tell how good is good or bad.

When you replaced the HDMI cable to your TV with component cables did you disconnect the coax cable from the back of the receiver? Is there any chance you didn't get it tightened back up good? Any chance you could have pulled on the coax cable and messed up the compression fitting?
